Jennifer Aniston will play one of the leading roles in ‘Miss You Already’, the new dramedy film from fast rising British writer/director Paul Andrew Williams (London to Brighton, The Cottage, Cherry Tree Lane).

Set in London, the film follows two lifelong female friends whose friendship goes tits up when one gets pregnant and the other gets seriously ill. Williams has co-wrote the script with British actress-writer-producer Morwenna Banks.

The film has been compared to 1980s tearjerker Beaches.

EntertainmentOne has pre-bought the UK, Australian and Canadian rights to the movie out in Berlin and the film will be produced by Christopher Simon and Felix Vossen of Embargo Films. They are attempting to sell the U.S. rights now.

The Hollywood Reporter says filming will begin in the summer for a release in 2013 and casting for the other roles is already underway. Presumably the co-lead to Aniston will be British with the film being set in the UK.

Aniston can next be seen in the Judd Apatow produce comedy Wanderlust which opens next week in the U.S. but not until next month in the UK.

Jennifer attended the 64th Annual Directors Guild Of America Awards in Hollywood on Saturday (Jan 28th)!  Jennifer  was nominated a long with Demi Moore, Penelope Spheeris, Alicia Keys and Patty Jenkins for Movies for Television and Mini-Series for their collaboration on Lifetime’s “Five”. Jennifer Aniston is the proud new owner of an 8,500 square foot mansion in the affluent Los Angeles neighbourhood of Bel Air. And she got it for a steal.

The original asking price was $24,900,000 million, but it the Friends star is believed to have got it for the bargain price of $21 million.

The 3.5 acre property, perched on the foothills of the Santa Monica mountains, is in a gated community which is home to stars including Nicholas Cage, Hugh Hefner and Lauren Bacall.

The luxurious mid-century abode is described as having ‘absolute privacy and a marvelous open floor plan with walls of glass. Perfect for an indoor outdoor lifestyle and ideal for entertaining.’

Designed by A. Quincy Jones, the house has 4 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms and unobstructed city and ocean views.

Jennifer Aniston is adopting a new dog.

The ‘Marley and Me’ actress – who was left devastated by the death of her beloved pet pooch Norman last year – has decided to start 2012 off in style by getting a new canine friend.

A source told America’s Star magazine: “Jennifer decided to give herself a New Year’s present to start the year off right – a new dog.

“She has been in mourning since Norman died.”

After visiting the Utah-based Best Friends Animal Society, Jennifer, 42, fell in love with a shepherd mix and wants to give the dog a loving family.

The source added: “Jen is ready to give another needy dog a home.”

Last year, Jennifer – who is dating actor Justin Theroux – got a tattoo in homage to Norman, by having his name tattooed on the inside of her right foot.

Explaining the inking she said: “That’s my dog. My baby who just passed away.

“I never thought that would ever happen. It’s just my way to pay homage to him – forever.”

Norman, a Welsh corgi-terrier mix, accompanied Jennifer – who also has a white German Shepherd named Dolly – everywhere, including on film location shoots, but he passed away last May due to complications from his old age.

Three years ago, Jennifer Aniston was crowned the most desired body in the annual Hollywood’s Hottest Looks survey, compiled by Beverly Hills plastic surgeons Richard W. Fleming M.D. and Toby G. Mayer, M.D.

Then … came the drought.

In 2010 singer Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson grabbed the top spot. Last year Aniston came in a close second to supermodel Gisele Bundchen.

But in 2012, it is again all about the “Friends” star, who topped the 15th annual Most Desired Female Body category at the age of 42, leaving 20-something stars Bar Rafaeli and Shakira in her dust.

Let’s hear if for fox-force Five!

The directors of the Lifetime tearjerker, including—maybe you’ve heard of them—Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore and Alicia Keys, are in the running for a Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television and Miniseries for their work on the five-vignette drama about cancer patients and their families.

And they, along with codirectors Penelope Spheeris and Patty Jenkins, are the only women nominated in their category. (And all of the other TV categories in the DGA Awards field are mostly populated by men, as well.)

Well, Demi, turns out 2011 wasn’t all a bust!
