Jennifer Aniston is one of the hottest stars on the red carpet, whose every haircut is documented, her easy sense of style emulated and her stunning silhouette always envied.
But now, the big secret out on how Aniston stays so beautiful, being revealed in “Yogalosophy,” a 28-day program by Aniston’s longtime friend and yoga instructor, Mandy Ingber.
“It’s yoga paired with toning exercises, so people who were bored with yoga might try it, or people that were really into yoga might get a little extra workout,” Ingber told ABC News.
Aniston and Ingber practice the exercises about three times a week, which Ingber says is “a good baseline for anything that you’re wanting to do regularly.”
The tree pose is Aniston’s favorite.
“She’s really good at it,” said Ingber. “It’s the ability to be able to find your sense of focus in the middle of a lot that’s going on. It runs right through the center of the body.”
To get ready for her big co-hosting gig with Ellen, Jennifer Aniston visited her friend Matthew Perry to get some advice. What happened after that, you’ll have to see to believe.
Jennifer Aniston keeps her friends close and her yoga instructor, Mandy Ingber, even closer.
But Aniston, 43, says a lot has changed since the fitness friends first met 22 years ago.
“We were a lot rounder,” Aniston said with a laugh at the Self magazine-sponsored celebration of Ingber’s new book, Yogalosophy: 28 Days To the Ultimate Mind-Body Makeover (available May 6) at West Hollywood’s Soho House. “We ate terribly. We did that, and then we sort of grew up a little bit more and we got jobs.”
Ingber – who has shared her health tips in a weekly blog for PEOPLE.com – notes that she’s witnessed Aniston’s transformation over the duration of their friendship.
“It’s hard to say is that yoga or is it as we get older we grow into ourselves, but I’ve seen her become so empowered, so grounded in herself, so comfortable in her own skin,” Ingber said. “I’ve definitely watched that process happen and unfold, and I’m grateful that I’ve gotten to be the observer of that.”
But Aniston isn’t the only famous figure Ingber is responsible for: she also works with Kate Beckinsale, Brooke Shields and Helen Hunt, and the actress credits Ingber’s approach to yoga with helping her sculpt her enviable body.
“That was always my ‘ugh’, my legs,” Aniston explained. “That’s why I credit her for [them] – with yoga.”
Although she remains dedicated to her healthy lifestyle, the bride-to-be admits to having a cheat day every now and then.
“Cheat days for me are usually … it’s either Mexican food … maybe Italian pasta, but I think you always have to do it in moderation.”
Jennifer Aniston knows a thing or two about going through a bad breakup. At the Tribeca Film Festival last week, Will Forte gushed about how costar Aniston had his back on the set of their currently Untitled Elmore Leonard Project, which they recently shot in Connecticut.
“I was going through a breakup at the time and she was so giving and really helped me through it,” the 42-year-old former Saturday Night Live star told omg!. “I cannot say enough good about her.”
In his upcoming film, Forte plays a criminal who helps kidnap a jilted housewife (Aniston). Though the actor kept the identity of his ex a secret, he did offer plenty of praise to his costar.
“She was just a fantastic person,” he said. “She was a delight to act with as much as a delight to get to know.”
While Forte recovers from his split, Aniston, 44, is currently planning her wedding to fiance Justin Theroux. The couple became engaged in August 2012, but don’t appear to be in a rush to get down the aisle.
On Apr. 16 at the premiere of Lifetime’s Call Me Crazy, A Five Film, Aniston told E! News that she hasn’t picked out a wedding dress yet. “No, no, no,” she said.
And her good friend Chelsea Handler is helping her keep her plans a secret. “She doesn’t consult me about her plans,” Handler told Katie Couric on March 8. “I’m sure I’ll find out about it when it’s about to happen like a last minute thing . . . for privacy issues.”
The couple that scares together stays together?
Jennifer Aniston reveals in a new interview that fiancé Justin Theroux frightens her all the time – but don’t worry, in a good way.
Turns out he likes to ambush her around the house when she least expects it. He even has some favorite hiding spots.
“He calls it trickery,” the actress says in a segment airing Thursday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “But he’s constantly hiding behind drapes. And I’m constantly scared. It’s like, it doesn’t get old on me.”
Aniston, 44, would like to get him back, although planning revenge on TV might not be the best idea.
“Do that to him. He’s not expecting it now,” Ellen says. Aniston replies: “Okay, shhhh … I’m going to do that!”
As for the rumors of a Friends reunion that swept through the Internet this week – which have since been debunked – Aniston says that was news to her.
“You’re hearing it here first,” she says, “as am I.”
