Jennifer’s diet choice, however, is somewhat different than the most famous low-carb diet plan, which is the Atkins diet. The Zone diet uses different proportions of carbs, fats, and protein: 40% carbohydrates, 30% protein and 30% fats. Each day, Jennifer follows the Zone diet by enjoying two snacks and three meals, with each divided among the 40-30-30 ratios. Lots of water is essential.

Forget all those myths about eating all the steak, bacon, and butter you desire on low-carb diets! The Zone diet focuses on low-fat protein, healthy fats known as monosaturated fats (for example, olive oil), and fruits and veggies are the preferred carb sources. The audience at the American Airlines Theatre tomorrow night will have a rare chance to see some of Hollywood’s most famous actors absolutely lose their friggin’ minds. The source of this potential meltdown is the ninth annual “24 Hour Plays,” a series of six 10-minute works in which the actors — including Brooke Shields, Jennifer Aniston, Rosie Perez, Naomi Watts, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore and more — don’t get to see their scripts until 12 hours before curtain.


The sold-out show, a charity presentation for the arts-in-schools charity Urban Arts Partnership, will work as follows. Twenty-four actors, six playwrights and six directors will meet at 10 tonight, with each actor bringing a costume and prop of their choosing.


After introductions are made, each playwright — including Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire (“Shrek the Musical,” “Rabbit Hole”) and Tony winner Warren Leight (“Side Man”) — will spend all night writing short plays that must be completed by 7 tomorrow morning. Then actors spend the day memorizing lines, rehearsing and tearing their hair out before performing at 8 p.m. By 10, exactly 24 hours later, it’ll all be over.


Rosie Perez is a veteran of the event, for one reason, and one reason only.


“All the money is going to my charity. Otherwise, I wouldn’t put myself though the torture,” says Perez, who recalls how one famous actor — who she wouldn’t name no matter how hard we begged — lost his nerve.


“He hadn’t done a lot of theater, and he came in going, ‘I’ve done some theater, this is gonna be fun,’ and the real theater actors were going, ‘Umm hmm,’” says Perez. “By the fifth hour, he had a full-blown meltdown — screaming and talking to himself in the hallway. I go, ‘It’s alright, it’s normal. If you throw up, you’ll feel better.’ The actors’ fates will largely depend on their experience at the seat-of-the-pants performance. “SNL” veteran Rachel Dratch has done it six times, calling on her improv background.


“It’s my favorite night, because you have actors from all different areas thrown together, and you don’t know who’s in your cast,” says Dratch, who last year wound up playing a Boy Scout who had to suck snakebite poison from the bitten leg of “Gossip Girl” star Matthew Settle.


For “24 Hour virgin” Emmy Rossum, the thrill is tempered by nerves.


“I’ll probably have cold sweats every night this week,” says Rossum, who’s considering a bedazzler as her prop. “But I have no idea who I’m playing, and that’s what makes it so exciting. I could play a toddler, a psychotic geriatric woman, a psychotic geriatric woman with a bedazzler. Who knows?”


When asked for advice for first-timers, Perez directs them to take the challenge seriously — unlike the cocky jerk who almost lost his mind.


“Respect the process, because it’s a real theater performance,” she says. “Know your lines and character as much as you can, and drop the ego, because you’ll need your fellow actors. We take it seriously.”

Former FRIENDS stars COURTENEY COX and JENNIFER ANISTON are stepping up a campaign to fight for women’s rights in the Congo.
The actresses have lent their support to humanitarian fashion brand OmniPeace, which aims to stamp out violence against women in the African region, and is run by their friend Mary Fanaro.
Earlier this year (Jun09) Cox and Aniston joined singer Sheryl Crow at a dinner party to raise awareness for the charity, and now they’re taking a new campaign to Senator Hilary Clinton.
The stars are urging gadget fans in America and Europe not to buy electronics, such as cell phones and laptops, which contain materials sourced from ‘conflict mines’ – where the industry is at the centre of violent fighting.
Cox has praised her pal Fanaro for all her charity efforts and hopes they will be able to spread their message even further.
She tells Fox News, “OmniPeace was created to give back. I can’t think of a better way to support my best friend and all the work that she and OmniPeace do to donate to causes supporting peace, education, human rights and the end of extreme poverty by 2025. Mary’s passion is so contagious and wonderful. It has taught me that anything is possible with enough perseverance and tenacity.”

Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox are lending their faces to front Mary Fanaro’s humanitarian fashion brand “OmniPeace” which seeks to “Stamp Out Violence Against Women & Girls of the Congo.”

The two former “Friends” star are passionate about anything they support and lend their name to the campaign of real education and commitment to helping in anyway they could, according to Fanaro.

As for Courteney, she joined Fanaro because she hopes that Senator Hilary Clinton will signal a greater investment in peace making and civilian protection from US and that American and European buyers will start to demand conflict-free electronics.

Jennifer Aniston made a top-secret visit to a Mexican orphanage, according to a new report.

The actress – and inadvertent poster girl for desperate, single woman of a certain age – reportedly spent time with the little’uns at Casa Hogar Sion, a rundown baby refuge in Tijuana.

It’s claimed the star has been supporting the refuge since she was with ex-husband Brad Pitt, and plans to return to adopt one of the orphans.

“Jen has been ploughing money into the orphanage for years, just as her ex Brad has, and to adopt a baby from there makes perfect sense,” a source tells the UK’s Now magazine.

“She and Brad will never be – she knows that – but this bond through the baby will live on, no matter what. Brad and Angelina can never escape from that.”

The orphanage’s owner Carmen Gonzalez is quoted as saying: “She got on with all the children, but spent most of her time with the babies. She loved them.

“She was in the nursery for a long time, playing with them and cuddling them.”

The magazine’s source adds: “This is what she’s always wanted, a baby, and now it’s about to come true.

“She won’t let anything get in the way of her dream.”

Jen has almost been a mother for, oh, years now so excuse us if we don’t hold our breath for this one to “come true.”

Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Jennifer Aniston, Liev Schreiber, Anthony Mackie, Billy Crudup, Sam Rockwell, Julia Stiles and Rachel Dratch will join the cast of The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway, according to The New York Times.

The 9th annual event, to be presented Nov. 9 at 8 PM at the American Airlines Theatre, is presented by Montblanc. Proceeds will benefit Urban Arts Partnership, a not-for-profit organization that brings arts education programs into New York City public school classrooms.

The aforementioned starry lineup will join the already-announced roster of actors including Amber Tamblyn, David Cross, Elijah Wood and Rosie Perez. Playwright Theresa Rebeck will join the put-upon scribes that will feature Warren Leight, David Lindsay-Abaire and Nathan Jackson. Swedish band A Camp (Nina Persson and Nathan Larson) serve as musical guests. More participants will be announced.


The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway, according to press notes, “will begin the night before the show with a group of six writers, six directors, 24 actors, two musical guests, and a production crew. After casts and crews have been briefed, each writer is tasked with composing a ten-minute play by 7 AM the following morning, when the directors return to read and select their piece. The casts will meet for the first time at 8 AM, are rehearsed over the next 12 hours and at 8 PM, the six new plays and musical acts will be performed for a live audience.”
