Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston is reportedly teaming up with pal Jamie Oliver to write a cookbook.

The 40-year-old beauty and Oliver, 34, plan to start work on the culinary book as they both have similar ideas.

A source told UK newspaper the Daily Star: ‘Jen and Jamie have been bashing around ideas for ages. They like the idea of combining healthy eating with traditional family dinners.

‘Jen loves throwing dinner parties for her mates and has dozens of personal recipes. She’s hoping they can do a whole range of books.’

12162009 management 300x221 Did Jennifer Aniston and Liam Neeson sink a distributor?2009 has been a year in which home video companies attempted to make a splash in the theatrical market and wound up doing a belly flop instead. While there doesn’t seem to be any permanent damage to Anchor Bay’s business from theatrical non-starters like Ashton Kutcher’s “Spread” after years of making a mint on DVD re-releases of “The Evil Dead,” the venerable Image Entertainment was reported yesterday to be considering filing for bankruptcy.

The recent downturn in the DVD business surely has contributed to the situation, but this could also be because Image, long the distributor of the Criterion Collection and countless indie films on home video, decided to start distributing some of their films theatrically, beginning with the Jennifer Aniston-Steve Zahn odd duck “Management” (released via Samuel Goldwyn) and more recently, the Liam Neeson-Laura Linney thriller “The Other Man,” a movie with such a low-profile release this fall that it eluded our “Season of ‘Man’-ly Movies” chart.

If there’s an obvious trend here, it’s that recognizable stars (not of the Steven Seagal variety) are appearing more and more in movies that you first hear of while scrolling through Netflix or strolling through Blockbuster, even if the films received a theatrical release, a point that Alison Willmore and Matt Singer discuss in this week’s IFC News podcast.

That plays into the interest of these home video companies who are likely able to sweeten deals with a film’s producers by saving face for their stars by throwing in a limited theatrical release to avoid the stigma of having their latest film considered to be “direct-to-DVD.” Once the film gets to its final destination, it’s bound to stand out on store shelves because of some familiar floating heads. Justin Timberlake and Jeff Bridges in “The Open Road”? Yep, came out for one week back in August.

But even the smallest theatrical releases come at a cost, as Image has discovered the hard way, and the true losers seem to be the artists who are getting short thrift for taking some chances.

Image mismanaged “Management,” which is one of the year’s overlooked films, an unusually charming love story in the vein of “Something Wild” that eludes rather than reinforces its easy “quirky comedy” tag. Coincidentally, I rented “Spread” the other night on DVD and, like others, was pleasantly surprised by my appreciation of Kutcher’s thoroughly dislikable gigolo at the center of the Los Angeles wonderland created by “Young Adam” director David Mackenzie.

fear for what will become of the recent Image acquisition “Don McKay,” a dark, twisty Thomas Haden Church thriller I saw when it premiered at Tribeca, scheduled to get a theatrical release in April. These films aren’t easy sells, and with fewer distributors out there, it’s possible more films may not get a release of any kind, let alone theatrical. Especially if Image Entertainment isn’t around in the home video business anymore.

The Internet Movie Database has announced the Top Stars of 2009, which are determined by the site’s unique visitors.

Johnny Depp may be the “Sexiest Man Alive,” but Robert Pattinson is the most sought-after. Hunky “Twilight” franchise vampire Robert Pattinson was at the top of the list, ending the five-year domination by Johnny Depp. R-Patz was joined by on-screen lady love Kristen Stewart at No. 2. Who else made the list?

“Twilight: New Moon” stars dominated the Top 25, representing almost 25% of the list. In fact, “Twilight” stars made-up 40% of the Top 10 with Robert Pattinson (No. 1), Kristen Stewart (No. 2), Taylor Lautner (No. 5) and Dakota Fanning (No. 8). Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed also made the list, at No. 11 and No. 15 respectively.

We’re a bit surprised Kellan Lutz isn’t on there. He’s just as hunky as Pattinson and Lautner. Also, who knew Dakota Fanning would be so high on the list? Notable absences: “Harry Potter” actors.

425spearsanistontisdalelc121009 Should The Trashed Jeans Trend Be Stopped?

E! online seems to think so! (I personally adore this look icon smile Should The Trashed Jeans Trend Be Stopped? ).

Shoulder pads, lace gloves, ripped jeans…the ’80s are so totally returning this year.

But that doesn’t mean we’re welcoming them back.

Jennifer Aniston’s, Britney Spears’ and Ashley Tisdale’s destroyed denim is giving us scary flashbacks to all the tacky glory the neon decade had to offer. The rips might’ve worked back then, but now these ladies just look like they’re slumming it in Beverly Hills.

So we hope they stop with the schlubby-looking, holey jeans—toss ‘em in the trash, where it looks like you found them, ladies!—before this trend catches on.

Given that Adam Sandler did so well with fake marriage before, in “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry,” the comic actor is heading to the non-altar once again. However, this time Sandler is getting a mock wife rather than a mock husband. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jennifer Aniston may costar as his stand-in bride in a romantic comedy titled “Pretend Wife.”

“Chuck and Larry” director Dennis Dugan will likely make this his seventh collaboration with Sandler, following the upcoming “Grown Ups.” The basic plot for “Pretend Wife” has been uncovered by Pajiba.com, and it sounds a bit odd, kind of like a romantic twist on Lars von Trier’s “The Boss of it All.”

Apparently Sandler’s character is so afraid of commitment that he tells his girlfriend that he’s married, with children. His game gets complicated though when the 22-year-old girl of his dreams threatens to leave him and he has to actually find a woman to play his wife in order to keep the girlfriend. Huh?

I’m actually curious to learn why the younger woman is more likely to stay with him if he indeed has a wife. Anyway, he will obviously end up falling for Aniston, as the pretend wife, because hired love interests always fall for their renter (see “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Pretty Woman,” “The Wedding Date,” etc.).

“Pretend Wife” was written by Allan Loeb (“21″) and Tim Dowling (“Role Models”), who originally called it “Holiday in Hawaii.” I guess that title would make it seem too much like “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” Especially since I can imagine Kristen Bell being cast as the 22-year-old girlfriend.

The movie already has a release date: February 11, 2011.
