Jennifer Aniston’s Mexican vacation was made extra special by One & Only Palmilla resort staff in Cabo San Lucas and the local military — they teamed up to prevent the prowling paparazzi from ruining her birthday break.

The actress jetted off to Mexico with friends and reported new man Gerard Butler to celebrate her 41st birthday, and she’s thrilled with the efforts locals made to keep her holiday a peaceful and private trip.

In an agreed TV interview with reporter Billy Bush, the actress pointed out the paparazzi boats out at sea, full of snappers who tried to get saucy shots of the star.

But resort staff, police and the local coast guard went beyond the call of duty to make sure the trip was a relaxing one.

She explains, “Our gang … has been holding up these mirrors … to sort of disrupt their photographs … I think any guest who comes here would hope to have a little privacy. I think it’s very nice.”

During the beach chat with the “Access Hollywood” presenter, Aniston revealed locals on jet-skis had been splashing the sea-faring paparazzi and the local military patrolled the area, blocking snappers from getting too many clear shots of the actress and her birthday party, which included Courteney Cox and Sheryl Crow.

As exciting as a romantic comedy featuring Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston is, a title like “The Baster” (after, yes, a turkey baster) isn’t one to inspire immediate interest. The title was inspired by the Jeffrey Eugenides short story which is what it was based on, also titled “Baster.” MTV News got a chance recently to talk to the scribe behind the project, Allan Loeb, and found out that we weren’t the only ones unenthused about the project.

“I believe we are not going to be calling it ‘The Baster’,” Allan said. “As a movie title, it doesn’t seem to be as exciting to the powers that be that are going to have to market it. So the title will change.”

Only time will tell what the film will end up being called but, with a release date of August 20, said powers that be will have plenty of time to brainstorm.

Considering the context of the turkey baster used in the story, it seems politically correct that the title be changed. Jennifer’s character Kassie uses the baster to artificially inseminate herself with sperm from a donor, which it actually turns out her best friend Wally, played by Jason, replaced with his own. Seven years later when the friends reunite, Wally needs to struggle with his secret.

“I can tell you that the movie is wonderful. I am very proud of it and very happy with it,” Alan said. “Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman both shine amazingly in this movie. Fans of Jason Bateman and Jennifer are going to be very happy and very excited to see their performances in this picture.”

Why is Jennifer Aniston so fond of her Bounty Hunter costar and frequent party buddy Gerard Butler? It’s not rocket science. The guy’s fun to be around and doesn’t take himself too seriously.

“We just had so much fun [making the movie] together, you know. He’s just fun. Gerry’s the most unpretentious guy,” Aniston tells Access Hollywood in a multi-part interview set to begin airing Tuesday night.

“He’s a guy’s guy,” she adds, “but he’s absolutely the most lovely and sort of self-deprecating [person] and just what you see is what you get. We look at work the same way … We always had each other’s back.”

Butler, 40, was among the large coterie of friends who joined Aniston for her 41st birthday celebration in Los Cabos, Mexico, this past week. The pair were also nearly inseparable during the Golden Globes weekend in January.

By all accounts, the long birthday weekend was a blast, and Aniston says there was just one rule – no one could say the number 41 out loud. “Thirty was a hump, but you know 31 is fabulous,” she jokes. “It really does get better, doesn’t it?”

Why did she choose Mexico where she has gone many times before? “These people survive on us coming down and spending money,” Aniston explains. Considering the country’s troubles with swine flu and drug trafficking, “It sort of made sense to sort of say, ‘Hey, let’s help out Mexico.’ ”

Jennifer Aniston is celebrating her 41st birthday with rumored love interest Gerard Butler!

Fuelling speculation they are indeed Hollywood’s latest twosome, The Bounty Hunter co-stars were photographed in Los Cabos, Mexico, sunning themselves with friends Courteney Cox, David Arquette and Sheryl Crow – to celebrate Aniston’s upcoming birthday.

While Aniston and Butler kept their distance so as not to be photographed next to one another, the two looked to having a fabulous time as they were snapped sunbathing by the pool.

Anisiton, who turns 41 on February 11, donned a mismatched brown and pink bikini. She chatted happily with her Friends co-star Cox and close pal Crow, while Butler relaxed on a sunlounge in light blue shorts.

John Mayer Calls Himself An A-Hole For Breaking Up With Aniston.

At one stage, the Scottish star picked up a pair of binoculars and zoomed in on the prying paparazzi.

Aniston and Butler sparked more talk they were in a relationship, when they walked the red carpet at the Golden Globes together. They put on an affectionate show on the red carpet, hugging and posing for pictures together.
