He’s managed to steer clear of Hollywood gossip until just recently, as Josh Hopkins got a taste of how the rumor mill works.

After Jennifer Aniston guest-starred on his show “Cougar Town,” rumors that he wooed and then later rejected her spread like wildfire.

Of the untrue claims, Hopkins told Parade magazine, “That was really, really weird and hurtful.”

He continued, “I’ve been working in this business for a long time, and it’s the first time I’ve ever found myself caught up in the middle of tabloid journalism.”

In the film, the 41-year-old actress’ character kisses a priest and has a steamy phone call with her boss!

Life & Style obtained the script to the film, which includes a line directing Rosemary, Jen’s character, to [lie] half-dressed on her bed. One hand holds her phone to her ear. The other is in her underwear.”

Should we call it diva-in-mouth disease?

It’s a pity what age does to older women (and men) in Hollywood: They either cut themselves up, surgically, or they just let their tongues do the slicing. Or both.

Take Joan Collins’ recent remarks against poor, innocent Jennifer Aniston, in which the former Dynasty star, wholly unprovoked, labels Brad’s ex “cute, but I wouldn’t call her beautiful. She’s no Ava [Gardner] or Lana [Turner].”

Jeez, why not add what a cute personality Jen has, just to top it off, bitch? More importantly, what does Aniston herself have to say about
the diss?

Nothing.

A rep for Ms. A. stated they were “aware” of the verbal slap from Collins, but they felt there was “no need to engage with that nonsense.”

Ouch! Kinda like something Alexis Carrington Colby herself would snip back, huh?

Can’t say that’s a bad move for Aniston, not to engage, really. Particularly since the hussy who stole Brad from Jen is precisely how Collins got into the whole beauty discussion in the first place. When pointing out Hollywood’s reigning beauties, the former B actress declared, “I have to say, there aren’t that many good-looking actresses around today. I mean, there’s Angelina Jolie and there’s… Angelina Jolie.”

Collins then immediately went on to disparage Aniston.

What was she thinking? Probably the same thing Faye Dunaway was thinking when she went for Hilary Duff’s jugular awhile back. Though at least then there was the connection of Hilary having recreated one of Faye’s most memorable starring roles in Bonnie and Clyde.

This stuff with Collins? Random bitchery. Which can be explained pretty simply: jealous, jealous, jealous.

Hey, Joan, take a note from your sis, Jackie, write this crap out, don’t speak it. Otherwise, it makes you look cheap and even older than you already are.

Alan Alda has booked a role in Universal’s comedy “Wanderlust.”

According to Variety, he joins a cast that includes Jennifer Aniston, Paul Rudd, Justin Theroux and Malin Akerman.

David Wain is directing from a script he co-wrote with Ken Marino.

The story follows a married couple (Aniston, Rudd) who try to escape modern New York society by joining a commune.

Alda will play the commune leader.

Judd Apatow is producing through his Apatow Productions with Wain, Marino and Rudd.

Alda last appeared in “Flash of Genius” and Rod Lurie’s “Nothing but the Truth.”

He had a guest role last year on NBC’s “30 Rock.”

Contrary to rumors, there’s no reconciliation between Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer, her rep tells PEOPLE. A recent tabloid story suggesting Aniston and Mayer spent time together in Georgia while she films her new romantic comedy, Wanderlust, and are back together is “a work of fiction,” says her rep. “Jennifer is not romantically involved with John Mayer.”

Mayer’s rep has also called the reunion rumor false.

The actress has been spotted around Clarkesville, Ga., where she and costar Paul Rudd are on location, stopping in for salads at a local grocery store and for coffee at a downtown shop.

“She took the time to sign autographs for a few fans,” says an onlooker. “She seemed happy and well.”

Aniston will continue filming in Georgia until the end of October.

I thought you guys would like to read another positive review of Jennifer’s new movie.

Jennifer Aniston’s latest flick “The Switch” may not be well received by the critics but her on-screen chemistry with Jason Bateman is earning her a lot of praises. The film is a romantic-comedy and though critics have some harsh words to say about it but the audience seems to love this flick.

The film tells the story of Kassie Singleton played by Jennifer Aniston who wants a child and wants to have it with the help of an artificial insemination. Even after his neurotic best friend Wally (Jason Bateman) tries to talk her out this thing but still she wanted it and so went all alone to get it done. On her artificial insemination party something goes wrong and then seven years later when Kassie comes back to New York with her neurotic child Sebastian, people find a lot of similarity between him and Wally, well there is a point missing here, that I should have mentioned you, but I don’t want to spoil your fun by mentioning you that thing. Its better you go and discover it and I am sure you are going to enjoy it a lot. The film also stars Jeff Goldbum and Watchmen’s Patrick Wilson.

But the best thing about the film is the on-screen chemistry between Aniston and Bateman, and you should give it a watch to enjoy that thing.
