Jennifer Aniston famously said that she wanted to be Oprah for a day. But that was not to be taken literally.
Despite widespread reports that Aniston, 40, is going to host a weekly talk show on Oprah Winfrey’s new cable channel, her rep tells Usmagazine.com that the reports are “absolutely false.”
London’s “Daily Express,” which was among the first to report the erroneous news, cited a source as saying, “She is doing this for one reason only: She absolutely wants to do it.”
The bogus story went on to claim that Aniston was inspired to do a talk show by her friend Chelsea Handler, who has a late-night gab fest on E!, “Chelsea Lately.”
Aniston, who is set to star in “The Bounty” and “The Baster” next year, has not graced the small screen in a recurring role since the show that made her famous, “Friends.”
In 2007, she said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar that she would love to spend a day in Oprah Winfrey’s shoes.
