normal 103012365 10 202x300 Jennifer Changes Name of FragranceAfter first toying with the name Lolavie for her debut scent, Jennifer Aniston ultimately ended up with a much more familiar name. Drum roll, please … Jennifer Aniston. Yes, the former “Friends” star decided to rebrand her eau de parfum with her very own moniker at the last minute, as Lolavie (which translates to “laughing at life” in French) was apparently too close for comfort to Marc Jacobs’ bestseller, Lola.

I’m all for avoiding confusion, but is pulling a switcheroo at the last minute really necessary? Do you think Marc was worried that people would think his “Lola” was in honor of Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes “Lola” Leon, when he released his scent onto the market? In the past, celebs have claimed perfume naming rights like their product is a song or a book — Still by Jennifer Lopez, White Diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor. Even our favorite pop princess has released scents entitled Curious by Britney Spears, and Fantasy by Britney Spears. Was Lolavie by Jennifer Aniston not unique enough?

The sweet-smelling star’s reasoning for the eponymous moniker? “At such a late hour, I didn’t want to postpone the launch so the only thing we could really clear (in terms of rights to perfume titles) was my name,” Aniston told Reuters at the fragrance’s London launch.

The 41-year-old actress looked positively ravishing at the perfume party in a form-fitting Valentino sheath that showcased her toned, tanned gams to perfection. When asked about her inspiration for the scent, Aniston told the crowd at Harrods department store that it had taken her two years to come up with the perfect combination of aromas. “I brought in a hair serum, a candle, a lotion, a sort of combination of all these things. It’s a combination of my favorite scents — the ocean, sea air, blooming jasmine, and tropical oils. It’s my memories of California nights in the summer.”

Smells like a certified best-seller to me!
